THE FINAL ENDORSEMENT OF JOHN KERRY

        Today we find out where the American people stand: are they with the candidate preferred by infidel hating, mass murderer, Osama bin Laden? Are they with the first choice of the world's oldest AIDS ridden terrorist, Yasser Arafat? Do they support the preferred candidate of Mattathir Mohammed, George Soros, and Michael Moore, of Mohammed el Baradei, Kofi Annan and every Muslim, Jew hating despot--or are we with the candidate preferred by the man who led in the months following the sneak attack, Rudy Giuliani? When Horsefeathers enters the polling booth, here in left-liberal utopia-ville, we know which side we'll be on. In the early days of World War IV, President Bush described our enemies thus: "These terrorists...we have seen their kind before. They're the heirs of all the murderous ideologies of the 20th century. By sacrificing human life to serve their radical visions, by abandoning every value except the will to power, they follow in the path of fascism, Nazism and totalitarianism. And they will follow that path all the way to where it ends in history's unmarked grave of discarded lies."
        President Bush forced nations and individuals to choose. You're with us in this war, or you're with the terrorists. Today it's America's turn to choose. It's each of our turns to choose. Are we on the side of the terrorists seeking to destroy us? Have we lost so much confidence in the noble idea of America, that we have become a nation of metrosexual wimps, like Spain, eager to be liked and guiltily ready to admit we've committed wrongs for which our enemies- we empathically understand- seek revenge?If we have wavered, been weakened by our wordsmith intellectuals 30+ year outpouring of Post-modern multicultural cant, then we will accept Osama's offering: security in return for electing a more compliant, therapeutically oriented pre 9-11 leader, John Kerry. After all, many of Kerry's criticisms of Bush are identical with the complaints of bin Laden. If we want to go back to the big, stock market induced sleep of the '90's all we have to do is stand against the President. President Bush with his repeated promises to be "relentless" in pursuit of our enemies, has sought to keep us awake and to point out that, unlike in dreams, reality doesn't always yield before infantile fantasies. He has also asked our help, to the very end of the campaign, asking people to "Stand with me." We rise to attention and proudly stand with him, ready to help.
        Horsefeathers is grateful that when the crisis of our age smashed home on 9-11, George W. Bush and not Al Gore was President. We thank George Bush, a good and decent man who has been reviled for assuming the leadership role history required of America, the last best hope of mankind, of Western civilization against the onrushing tide of Islamo-Nazi barbarism.
        George Canning wrote these lines about Pitt after the battle of Waterloo:
And oh if again the rude whirlwind should arise
The dawning of peace should first darkness to form,
The regrets of the good and the fears of the wise,
Should turn to the pilot who weathered the storm.
