OH THE HORROR, THE UNFAIRNESS!
Horsefeathers has argued that the wordsmith class is drawn mostly from a group of formerly pampered, flattered and indulged, verbally adept schoolchildren. They can barely condescend to the rest of us, and certainly imagine we breathlessly await their every observation in pursuit of truth and justice. Well here's the perfect story to capture their sense of entitlement, and resentment toward those, like the Vice President, who don't recognize their obvious superiority and importance:
Reporters Wait to File Stories as VP's MP3 Player Charges
WASHINGTON, Dec. 22, 2005 — "After a four-day overseas trip that took him to four countries in the Middle East, Vice President Dick Cheney really wanted to get his iPod charged for that long return flight to Washington.
Since it is his plane, the vice president's iPod took priority and was plugged into one of the only working power outlets on Air Force Two, frustrating reporters who were trying to file stories..."
See the rest here.
Notice the childish tone "Since it is his plane..." and the juvenile implication that the V.P.'s entertainment desires are allowed to trump the real work being done by reporters.

Cheney is such a brilliant man, I really wish someone in the press would acknowledge this. You'd think the reporters would be slightly intreested in what The Vice President of the United States listens to on his iPod? Jeez, I sure am. I mean I enjoy good music, I think most 297 million American do too.
I really wish they would report something good for once about the VP that didn't include the name "Haliburton."

Why do they assume he is listening to music? I listen to medical mp3's on my sony Walkman (No ipod yet)...
Guess the press never heard about podcasts...
