SULLIVAN'S 'CYCLE OF DEPRAVITY'
Here's what Andrew Sullivan equates with the Abu Graibh hazing of Jihadis.
Islamofascist Barbarism
"The mutilated bodies of missing U.S. soldiers PFC Kristian Menchaca, 23 of Houston, and PFC Thomas L. Tucker, 25 of Madras, Oregon, were found this morning in the “Triangle of Death” in Iraq. An Iraqi military official grimly said the two young warriors were killed “in a barbaric way.”
While details are still being withheld, the military grapevine is saying the men were beheaded and their eyes gouged out – the “required” procedure to kill the infidel according to the teachings of the Islamic fundamentalists..."

Some of us are horrified that American soldiers are captured, tortured, mutilated and murdered but more horrible still is that this crime goes by unnoticed or mentioned by mainstream media Amnesty International -they are too busy talking about World Cup soccer or the well-fed prisoners at Gitmo.
It is like when John Paul II died; at UVA he did not exist. Paulo Freire existed. Cuba existed. Che Guevara existed. Simone de Beauvoir existed. Dewey the Patron Saint existed and Marx existed but the death of John Paul II the Great went unmentioned. The silence was deafening. It was for me, one of the most horrible days of my life. I was not among countrymen or people of honor. I was a stranger and I knew then I would never get any support or sympathy at that institution.
But thank God for the Blogs and the Internet...the new Printing Press and the New Committees for Correspondence.
The Censorship of Style and the Dictatorship of the Professoriate is averted, at least for a while yet.
There is always one consolation: the knowledge that one is BYDAN FREE (forever free).
But all good people who do pass by,
shed a tear and say a prayer for the croppy boys...
