"MOMMY, MOMMY, HE HURT OUR FEELINGS": THE NEW YORK TIMES DEFENDS ISLAMO-NAZIS FROM THE BIG BAD POPE
Horsefeathers recently found himself discussing the nature of comedy with a professional comedy writer. We found ourselves listening to an exceedingly long toast at a wedding. He assured me that if it went on another 5 minutes it would start to seem funny. Sure enough, just as the toaster seemed to be mercifully winding down, he said "let me digress for a moment" and was back in full throttle, no end in sight, at which point I did indeed begin to giggle. There was something in his self absorption, his assumption that we would all enjoy his self infatuated sharing of each detailed memory of his relationship with the groom that was laughable. Or was our laughter partly a defense against our helpless anger at being forced to wait hungrily for our dinner? Ultimately it was the sheer self absorption, the foolishness of the man that became amusing. Today is the day when the New York Times assumed the status of that man and became a parody of itself. No Onion parody, not even the great Scrappleface, could match today's editorial endorsing the hurt feelings of Muslims, sympathizing with the likes of Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Fadlalah (see below) and blaming the Pope for their murderous anger. Appeasers, cowards, hypocrites, infants--sure they're all of those, but they're also just plain ridiculous.
Read it here.

a) Too bad the Pope did not bash fundamentalist Protestants, Jewish "settlers" on the West Bank or neocons. The Times would have approved of that wholeheartedly.
2. Let me get this straight - the Pope said that radical Islam can be violent, Muslims objected and threated vilolence if he did not apologize? Res ipsa loquitur - "the thing speaks for itself!"
3. Having once had to make a toast (I was best man at my childhood friend Richie's wedding back in 1981) I can only say that my toast was pathetic but mercilessly short. I wish they would do away with the annoying tradition of giving a toast at a wedding. It puts too much pressure on the best man to be a) funny, b) sentimental, c) glib.

Perhaps if they {the Muslims} drank in moderation they would not be so frustrated and mean.
Yet this modernistic Islam, emphasizing fanaticism and violence, seems to be a strange hybrid and is point of fact quite un-Islamic and even, ironically, irreligious in its political fanaticism.
These is something, truly, of Hitler, social Darwinism and Machiavelli in these Islamo-fascist leaders.
They believe, they really believe, they will bury the West by their reproduction and by their tenacious religious culture. The central idea of Machievelli- and Hitler- is that the power of the party is not bound by any moral law whatsoever.
Essentially, fascism is the adoration of power and an idolatrous hero-worshiping of so-called martyrs (homicide bombers). Surely Muhammad himself would not have known what to make up of the video last will and testaments that are played over and over and MEMORIZED by young Jihad-mad fanatics.
Surely, that kind of reverence must be only for God and his Holy Koran???
Fascism is the belief in power and terror to intimidate, divide, demoralize and destroy rivals.
Essentially, Islamo-fascism is living in a fantasy world fueled by petro-dollars.
This is why it is really of great urgency that we in the USA and the West replace oil with synthetics the way we replaced rubber.
Also I think we have to pull the plug on UNRA and other UN welfare agencies which are riddled with terrorist sympathizers.
Most in the Islamic, particularly Arabic-speaking world dwell in the shallows of murky prejudice.
I say ignorance because their hatred of the Jews and the West is mostly based on a distorted broken-mirror image of a world so multifarious and alien they cannot comprehend it.
Under the woeful economic and educational conditions of the Islamic world, particularly the Arabic-speaking world, I think we will always encounter me in whom their passion and prejudice is too strong for reason and for principle.
It was Lord Acton who said "There is no wrong men have not been ready to commit when they thought is could serve religious purposes."
These new Islamic fascists unlike Islamic believers of 100 years ago or more who simply ignored the West while they pitied the West as damned infidels.
But today, their whole way of life seems in doubt, so they think they are compelled to revolt against modernity.
It comes down to the fact that such men believe the worst lies, sins and crimes are better than reason and justice IF it can serve their religious faction and injure the cause of the USA, the West and Israel.
This sort of fanaticism is degenerate and is of course not the exclusive badge of any one political -ism or religious faction.
One hopes true education and indirect contact with the best of the Western Tradition will elevate these proud -but narrow- monotheistic Semites.
Of course, as Victor Davis Hanson has pointed out, many Arabs- Bin- Laden included -recoil at the moral decadence of the "Free and Easy West".
So there modernization and assimilation to Western ideas may not be automatic.
The heritage of Greece and Roman is not only alien to them it is a heritage THEY CELEBRATE as a decadent one that they defeated. Over and over the Koran celebrates the defeat of the "Romans" (that is to say Byzantine Greeks who called themselves "Romanoi").
This era will challenge the limits of absolute and universal religions toleration.
Islam will be tolerated only if it does not fall prey to the temptation, idolatry and contagion of Islamofascism.
Perhaps, and I pray for it, there will be a rebirth of a godly Islam in which the clerics admonish killers and terrorists of the anger of God if they continue to destroy innocent human life.
Perhaps, but until that day comes we must PRAISE THE LORD ourselves and PASS THE AMMUNITION.
We are going to need plenty of both if free societies are to survive this century. I hope we can count among our allies intelligent and godly Muslims. But the ultimate allegiance of Muslims is anyone's guess especially with the widespread fanatical hatred of Jews and Israel which cannot but remind one of Nazi Germany in the 1930's. I have the distinct impression that British Muslims and French Muslims and Canadian Muslims and even American Muslims could 'turn' at any time because ultimately their loyalty is not to the State but only to their vision of faith and God which they believe is absolutely true.
We may be on the brink of a great war of extermination in which some nations are eradicated and obliterated from the face of the earth. This current situation is really more dangerous than 1962, in my opinion, and will continue as long as terror states abound, seek WMD and talk glibly about the total destruction of Israel, which in case no one has noticed has beefed up its second strike capability with additional nuclear submarines. They have five now and perhaps hundreds of nuclear warheads and cruise missiles.
So if the Islamic fascists persist in their nightmare fantasy of destroying Israel they will only succeed in decapitating Islam and devastation of the Islamic heartland.
It is a terrible thought and I shudder at it.
Peace, I know, is far better than war.
But there is, as the Gael of old knew, a peace that can be known only after a just war for liberty and survival.

Here are some fascinating quotes fromPierre Rehov, documentary filmmaker.
MUNRO: They were forwarded to me by an old NYU schoolmaster of mine a thoughtful Japanese who read DIANE RAVITCH'S THE LANGUAGE POLICE and translated excerpts into Japanese. (I understand he would be happy to translate the whole book if he got the contract and he certainly is capable of it).

Pierre's upcoming film, "Suicide Killers," is based on interviews that he conducted with the families of suicide bombers and would-be bombers in an attempt to find out why they do it. Pierre agreed to a request for a Q&A interview here about his work on the new film.
****
Q - What insights did you gain from making this film? What do you know that other experts do not know?
A - I came to the conclusion that we are facing a neurosis at the level of an entire civilization. Most neuroses have in common a dramatic event, generally linked to an unacceptable sexual behavior. In this case, we are talking of kids living all their lives in pure frustration, with no opportunity to experience sex, love, tenderness or even understanding from the opposite sex. The separation between men and women in Islam is absolute.
So is contempt toward women, who are totally dominated by men. This leads to a situation of pure anxiety, in which normal behavior is not possible. It is no coincidence that suicide killers are mostly young men dominated subconsciously by an overwhelming libido that they not only cannot satisfy but are afraid of, as if it is the work of the devil.
Since Islam describes heaven as a place where everything on Earth will finally be allowed, and promises 72 virgins to those frustrated kids, killing others and killing themselves to reach this redemption becomes their only solution.
****
Q - You say suicide bombers experience a moment of absolute power, beyond punishment. Is death the ultimate power?
A - Not death as an end, but death as a door opener to the after life. They are seeking the reward that God has promised them. They work for God, the ultimate authority, above all human laws. They therefore experience this single delusional second of absolute power, where nothing bad can ever happen to them, since they become God's sword.
Q - Is there a suicide bomber personality profile? Describe the psychopathology.
A - Generally kids between 15 and 25 bearing a lot of complexes, generally inferiority complexes. They must have been fed with religion. They usually have a lack of developed personality. Usually they are impressionable idealists. In the western world they would easily have become drug addicts, but not criminals. Interestingly, they are not criminals since they don't see good and evil the same way that we do. If they had been raised in an Occidental culture, they would have hated violence. But they constantly battle against their own death anxiety. The only solution to this deep-seated pathology is to be willing to die and be rewarded in the afterlife in Paradise.
Q - Are suicide bombers principally motivated by religious conviction?
A - Yes, it is their only conviction. They don't act to gain a territory or to find freedom or even dignity. They only follow Allah, the supreme judge, and what He tells them to do.
Q - Do all Muslims interpret jihad and martyrdom in the same way?
A - All Muslim believers believe that, ultimately, Islam will prevail on earth. They believe this is the only true religion and there is no room, in their mind, for interpretation.
The main difference between moderate Muslims and extremists is that moderate Muslims don't think they will see the absolute victory of Islam during their lifetime, therefore they respect other beliefs. The extremists believe that the fulfillment of the Prophecy of Islam and ruling the entire world as described in the Koran, is for today.
Each victory of Bin Laden convinces 20 million moderate Muslims to become extremists.
Q - Is there a financial support network for the families of the suicide bombers? If so, who is paying them and how does that affect the decision?
A - There used to be a financial incentive in the days of Saddam Hussein ($25,000 per family) and Yasser Arafat (smaller amounts), but these days are gone. It is a mistake to believe that these families would sacrifice their children for money. Although, the children themselves who are very attached to their families, might find in this financial support another reason to become suicide bombers. It is like buying a life insurance policy and then committing suicide.
Q - Why are so many suicide bombers young men?
A - As discussed above, libido is paramount. Also ego, because this is a sure way to become a hero. The shaheeds are the cowboys or the firemen of Islam. Shaheed is a positively reinforced value in this culture. And what kid has never dreamed of becoming a cowboy or a fireman?
Q - What role does the U.N. play in the terrorist equation?
A - The U.N. is in the hands of Arab countries and third world or ex-communist countries. Their hands are tied. The U.N. has condemned Israel more than any other country in the world, including the regime of Castro, Idi Amin or Kaddahfi. By behaving this way, the U.N. leaves a door open by not openly condemning terrorist organizations. In addition, through UNRWA, the U.N. is directly tied to terror organizations such as Hamas, representing 65 percent of their apparatus in the so-called Palestinian refugee camps. As a support to Arab countries, the U.N. has maintained Palestinians in camps with the hope to "return" into Israel for more than 50 years, therefore making it impossible to settle those populations, which still live in deplorable conditions. Four hundred million dollars are spent every year, mainly financed by U.S. taxes, to support 23,000 employees of UNRWA, many of whom belong to terrorist organizations (see Congressman Eric Cantor on this subject, and in my film "Hostages of Hatred").
*****
Q - How can we put an end to the madness of suicide bombings and terrorism in general?
A - Stop being politically correct and stop believing that this culture is a victim of ours.
Radical Islamism today is nothing but a new form of Nazism.
Nobody was trying to justify or excuse Hitler in the 1930s.
We had to defeat him in order to make peace one day with the German people.
***
MUNRO: This is very true. There is something horrible and new and UNRELIGIOUS about this new terror movement just the way Nazism was UNRELIGIOUS in its quasi-religion and even a rejection of the best of German culture. Islamofascism is a growing within the body of an Islam based upon ETHICAL MONOTHEISM and MORALITY.
Islamofascism is poisoned with pride, hatred and racism. It can be contradicted by quote after quote of the Koran and sayings of the great Prophet Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him.
But these quotes cannot come from me, a cosmopolitan infidel with only a superficial acquaintance of Islam. The denunciation of Islamo-fascism MUST must come from clerics and intellectuals within the Islamic world.
Today an innocent Italian nun was murdered in Somalia -essentially as an act of terror and revenge against the Pope and all Catholics.
Where is the outrage in the Islamic world?
