VICTIMS OF WESTERN DISCRIMINATION
Quiz: What word is missing from this NYTimes account of the poor, youthful, downtrodden, dark-skinned, victims of discrimination who inhabit the suburbs of Paris? Clue: It starts with I, and ends with M. Could it have something to do with chants, not reported in the New York Times article, to wit:
"Many youths, many arsonists, many vandals behind the violence do it to cries of 'Allah Akbar' (God is Great) when our police cars are stoned..."(see the rest here.)

The New York Times when it would report on local crimes in New York City (i.e. rape) would give a description such as this:
"Male, 6'2" tall, approx. 200 lbs, scar over right eye" but leave out the race of the perpetrator if he was "a person of color".
